nice political stunt as he knows the crisis is hopeless and better come up wit novel ideas to win support. like citibank ceo $1 salary.

u can call it a stunt.. but i think that is also the right thing to do. Dont draw million dollar salary and say you can empathize with the ppl over rising cost of living. Dont sit in your nice car and say you can understand that the trains are crowded.

Theirs is a natural disaster leh...beyond man's control..yet these folks including Tepco all offering salary cuts in order to compensate affected residents. I can bet if there were to be a natural disaster in sgp, the gahmen and insurance companies will invoke act of god.

If there is anybody who needs to show a gesture that he/she has a genuine interest in serving the people and not in the game for money/power, it should be TPL.

Ironic that people whom have to crowd like sardines in MRT and asking for more pay and lower cost of living expect the men doing the toughest job in the country be paid nothing and deliver everything. Lets try to be open minded, accept the realities of a never totally fair world, and that meritocracy ought to be rewarded duly to keep this society moving forward.

Put simply, if the top dogs are not awarded proper feed, how high are the chances that trains are going to get less squeezier?

Use of silly/unrealistic reasoning to bring out your point.

As for your question, even if top dogs are given proper feed, trains are still so crowded - so why pay?

stunt or not, that's the least a leader must do for accountability of what went wrong

yes, the problem was created by natural disaster.

however, many facts shown lack of policy and poor control & management that lead to continous suffering to the nation
