Hey folks... need some advise.

Might be a n00b question as i m just getting my first car after passing my license.

I have looked at a whole range of cars... from the old skool Civic ESI, swift, Impreza, Altis, Colt.

I finally nailed it down to the GLX or maybe an EX left 1++ 2yrs on the COE

Is there anything which i should look out for ?

I have been told that best is to send it to a mechanic for a second opinion. Anyone knows of a good mechanic well versed in GLX ?

Hi bro,

I just bought over a manual GLX in a few months ago.

Renew it for 5 years.

When took over, had changed the normal wear and tear parts and normal full maintenance (timing belt, etc)

So far running well.

FC is around 12-13.

Only thing i dislike is the car and headroom is low. Lower than my previous Kia Pica....

Find it a bit hard to get in/out of the car due to the low level, esp for my old parents.

Bro may i know why u renew 5 instead of 10 years??

isnt 10 years better deprecation for this workhorse?  [lipsrsealed]

Never take the ESI.

Old cars are a mixed bag, more so when potential for modding is high.

Impreza, cry in one corner when you see your petrol bill.

You should buy a Hyundai Elantra (Avante) or a Kia Forte.

These are good cars that are better than Jap in Vfm.

(For any new car owner consideration)

Yes 10 years is better.

But I dun want to take a loan.

And use the remaining cash for some other purposes.
