Newcar 1st Gear October 20, 2012 Share October 20, 2012 If the balancing is done this way, then this is high-speed balancing. Hi Brother, Just to share more information. Attached is another later type of High speed balancing machine which I used to pay at my usual WS. It won't create tires wear on its side compared with the usual machines. The rotation stone contacts the tires surfaces which duplicate actual road conditions. A friend of mine test 180km/h on certain part of NS HW from KL to Johor on his Gen 2. He claimed steering wheel is stable. Where esle, me tried 150 km/h on my Tom Yam ride in the North. Same as per above, steering wheel is very quiet.. non vibrates as well. ↡ Advertisement
Deckbuild 6th Gear October 20, 2012 Share October 20, 2012 Well, I just had a set of 4 replaced with my ride with hi speed-off wheel balancing / wheel alignment in North. Handling wise, much responsive than mine previous XM1 (3 sets changed in the past years) when dry. Wet wise, have not test it out. Noise wise, off course is damn quiet when new. Nonetheless, allows me further monitor b4 finalize the conclusion. Will be going long drive in the North on coming days. U driving beyond jasin? Try the concrete road and share how noisy it is, thanks!

Titansim Neutral Newbie November 6, 2012 Share November 6, 2012 Hi All, I am new here. After reading through the threads, I decided to change my tyres to XM2. Was quoted RM1200 by Hawk Tayar in JB Southern City (recommended by another bro in thread #124). With other plus plus and discount, it will be RM1210 NETT. Went to another shop near Taman Sentosa market (opp the Bak Kwa store) and was quoted RM1200 NETT (after all plus plus and discount). I reckon the market price is around this range now, please share if you have gotten a better quotes recently. Will be changing the tyres next week

Deckbuild 6th Gear November 23, 2012 Share November 23, 2012 (edited) Just to follow up, these tyres are quiet on cement road. The noisiest drive I ever encounter with this tires are when driving along AYE which is in extremely poor condition, so rough... We pay so much road tax and COE and still get worst road than Msia... Ahrex Clutched December 24, 2012 Share December 24, 2012 any updates of 195/55/15 prices of xm2 from jb?
Aloytryp Neutral Newbie December 25, 2012 Share December 25, 2012 Today, replaced 4 existing XM1 with 4 XM2 at Hawk Tayar [JB Southern City]. 4pcs XM2 185/65/R15 88H, total RM1,030 less trade-in RM130 = RM900 + RM2.65 [6% GST] = RM902.65 The trade-in was given, without me asking, maybe because the XM1 was previously purchased from them. Price include tubeless valves, alignment, high-speed balancing for 2 front tires. * they are nice to oblige my request to remove the rear brake drums and blow off the brake dust. * they no longer accept Genting Worldcard to earn Worldcard reward points. It is ok. Already satisfied with their service. For reference, my XM1 was installed in 6/11/2008, and covered 46,900 km, threads estimated 1-2 mm above the thread wear indicator. Changed to new tires for peace of mind, especially on NSH. Wow, you use about 4 years.
Pisces69 6th Gear December 26, 2012 Share December 26, 2012 Wow, you use about 4 years. My tires also last abt 4 yrs but my mileage higher at abt 70k km. I take care of my tires like regular 4 tires balance n rotate every 10k km. Alignment regularly done. Wear is very even on whole tire thread. I pump tires correct pressure (not very high) every week. All this helps to extend life of tires.
