Inspired by the other 1980s thread, hope this will refresh some memories especially those born 1960s or 70s. Those who weren't familiar with Japanese music would find many songs familiar from their Cantonese or Mandarin cover versions.

I just like music all around :D

Went to a KTV in Shibuya-ku and sang 谷村新司's 夏の日のI LOVE YOU in Japanese and Cantonese (Leon Lai's 夏日傾情) and shock the hell out of the chicks, my JP counterparts and the Nippon ojisans across the table :D

Surprisingly, most of them didn't know a lot of Japanese songs were sang in many other Asian languages. The Japanese men were all singing Korean love songs though (with katakana lyrics).. --- the current trend there, 'cos the chicks love it.

夏の日のI LOVE YOU

谷村新司
