Hi anyone know how much is endoscopy cost after subsidies from polyclinic? With ga included.

Im currently having gastric reflux for 2 months and in sharp pain once i ate spicy, sour, sugary food.

Need to get this recover asap.

Anyone have the same situation as me?

Unable to give u cost for subsidized gastroscopy but it's about $1700 in govt hosp for A class. Subsidized should be just a few hundreds.

A numbing local anaesthetic would be sprayed into your throat & light sedation given thru intravenous injection.

Not GA, you still can breathe on your own but usually O2 is given via nasal prongs.

Hi All

I strongly suggest for those who intend to do colonscopy n endoscopy to not do the procedures at Raffles hospital. This place is a total rip-off.

Did my procedure recently at RH and found out after the op that RH over-charged me by 2.5k. I called up 2 specialists in Gleneagles to check how much the procedures cost (with polyps removal) and was shocked to find out it only cost about 4.5k tops all in.

I paid 7.2k for my endo + colonscopy with a polyp removed!!!

Called RH up to see what they have to say about it and their official reply is that I was given financial counselling before I went for the procedures. They gave me an estimate cost of 5k if no polyp and said cost will be different if polyps are found. But they did not tell me how much more it would cost. I did not expect the cost to balloon to more than 7k.

These are simple SOP medical procedures that do not require hospitalisation. In fact u will only be there for 3 hours max.

I am appalled that i can be over-charged by so much for a standard medical procedure that i can do it for 2.5k less even in another private hospital in orchard road.

I should have done more research on the cost before i stepped into RH.

I like to warn all of u on doing any medical procedures at RH. Their knives are really very very sharp!

Ok. If this post helps others to make a decision, I would post it.

I did a colonscopy today unsedated as part of the routine check. It is just a bit uncomfortable but not painful. In fact, I was still able to chat with the doctor.

Though not a medical procedure that one would go for, for no reason, it is a good preventive measure to get polyps removed before they turned nasty. And the regular interval for this is every few years. The peace of mind is probably worth it. Hope it helped you.

Colonoscopy indeed can be done unsedated, i have also done before unsedated. That time i even looking at the screen and doctor even tell me this is how inside my colon looks like. Feel something inside my colon moving, only feel a bit painful when the tube made some turning.

I remember after went through one colonoscopy, next one can be done 10 years later if your are not in any high risk and aso if you are under 50 year old when the procedure was done. If not, think procedure should be done every 5 years.
