ah, it was registered again in Oct 2011.

 

when I last checked in Aug 2011, the record was not found.

My guess is... Bro, you need to key in a later Transfer date as the car could be newly registered, thus can't be transferred. Or also, owner can keep the number for a year w/o registering the car, therefore no record found... (I stand to be corrected)

I've encountered bogus plates on Singapore roads before...... once on a R34 Skyline which was at an SMSA carpark rally (so you know its really long ago) and more recently a black WRX having some fun with me (which is why I went home to check it out on LTA's website).

 

So with regard to the fabled ER1C, if you see it, its not a genuine number plate. Only ER1T is.

 

And here's proof that you can have a number plate that cost many times more than the car that wears it:
