can recommend you one doctor who can help you. clinic at ubi. people from around the world fly in to see him for problems like yours. people who cannot stand, walks. back bent, straightens. if there is someone who can help, is him. be prepared though, to queue for 2 hrs from 6am to 8am just to get a number.

Has the specialist at CGH asked for a blood test??? If not suggest to him/her.

 

If ur blood test indicate HLA-B27 positive, welcome to the AS club. I have constant lower back pain due to AS. Incurable illness. Have to take medication to ease the pain.

But now the medication is affecting my liver............ My liver specialist advise me to cut down my AS medication. So now have to loon with the pain.

Want to seek some advice from bros here who also suffer from lower back pain

 

I am having lower back pain for few months already. Initially only pain when I do some awkward motions like twisting and bending down.

But now it has worsen to constant pain/ache no matter standing or sitting, to the extend that when walking I cannot really straighten the back.

 

Of course i had been to the doctor's several times, every time he will take an x-ray and tell me that there is no problem with the spine and bones. and there's nothing he can do except prescribing some physiotheraphy.

 

I went for physio for a while but it did not help. So i went back and the doctor said the x-ray did not show anything and he really dunno how, so he suggested to do an MRI scan to check if the nerves are ok.

 

My question is: are MRI scan really useful? I am worried that after i go through this expensive scan the doctor is going to say that the scan shows nothing and direct me to physio again. then i would have wasted money to go back to square one

 

any bros can advice? or any bros know of any good places that can treat back pain?

 

Bro ur case look like mine, and worse than you I can't even stand up. I've been diagnosed with slipped disc later.You need MRI to tell you the problem.

I did not go thru any surgery. Now is once a while, long long one time having sore lower back pain which is same syptoms as yours now.

Heard got such a thing call spinal cord tumor like brain tumor. If this is headache will you get a MRI? If so, then go. If not, ask your TCM doctor to guarantee no tumor.

Many causes of the lower back pain. For instance, I am suffering from Sciatica pain for almost 2 years.

 

The symptom is only one leg, the lower back downwards and sometimes the feet will go numb. I need to take a break after a long walk, sit down or bend down. And the pain is unbearable.

 

Tell you what I did. I went for a 12 X courses of the Physiotherapy, it won't heal and don't feel any better. So I went to seek for TCM and did around 10 X of acupuncture and some Tuina, it does relieved but it just came back again.

 

 

So I was thinking, better go do a MRI ( Mt Alvernia ) to see what's the nerve that cause the pain. And after the MRI, was told that the L4 or L5 something like that is "tickling " my Sciatica nerve, recommend me to go for Chiropractor and I did went for 6 courses.

 

 

After all this, No recovery and this time I did some stretching myself after doing some research from the internet. Do it everyday, endure the stretch and pain, now I can't say it completely recovered, but am feeling much better at least my feet is not numb anymore.

 

 

 

* MRI and all these therapy can by very costly, so try D.I.Y and do some excercise. Hope this help and hope you recover fast!!!

Bro i have persistent backaches too but only happens at night usually before i sleep. been to see a chinese physician he told me its some kind of blood clot at the lower back perhaps due to a fall or carrying too much heavy loads, which is true as im an inline skater prone to falls. if u dont wanna be on frequent painkiller diets u can try consuming herbal soup which helps blood circulation it'll ease the pain in the long run..

Bro, if going to TCM. try search around for those reputable one. they will advice you whether to see TCM or Western medical.

 

(my mum when to a few different one and only one tell her that this type can only be solve by acupuncture (slower method ) or inject steriod (faster method but health hazard that is why one year only allow max 2 time) . That one is a Tie tar master.)
