How to maintain soft top?

Recently bought the old mx5 that comes with soft top.

 

Any idea how to maintain the top? And if Kenna bird shiet, how to remove it properly?

Apply ArmourAll Rubber and Vinyl Protectant regularly.

Need to know is it vinyl or fabric before applying anything..avoid washing with detergent or you will have a hard time rinsing the suds away..If is a fabric..wash with water and you can use a fabric cleaner with a cloth and wipe for light brown top and then follow buy a soft top fabric conditioner..This make wiping off bird dropping easier and it beads water and prevent top from color fading..

 

To wipe bird dropping..use a damp tissue and wipe..

 

Same goes for vinyl..to clean vinyl..you can use those leather shampoo to clean and top with a soft top vinly protectant.. Hope the above helps..
