Stock?

Video was posted in 2006, it has the RS steering wheel, no recaro's, body coloured side mirrors, looks like its a standard RS, not even the cup version!!!!

Anyway for the record, the previous production FWD car record on the Nurburgring was the Renault Megane RS 230 Renault F1 Team R26R. The current production FWD car record on the Nurburgring is the Renault Megane RS Trophy.

Anyway yeah, the Megane has been the production car to beat for FWD handling, and nope its not the Golf, not the CTR, not the Focus, etc :D

can it beat the Ford Focus ST or RS?

I believe it beats the RS by almost a second on the Nurb :D

Edit: Whoopsies, its way faster than the Focus. Hmm... wonder how the new Focus will fare... Ahhh competition is good xD

"The Megane RS Trophy set a time of 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds around the famed German track, smashing the record for front-wheel-drive production cars previously held by the Megane RenaultSport R26.R by 9 seconds. In comparison, Ford’s Focus RS set a time of 8 minutes 26 seconds during a run in 2009."
