How come RON92-93 is "premium gas" in the US, but not here?

In USA, they don't use RON like in Asia or Europe. They use Octane rating.

Octane rating is the average of RON and MON.

 

RON = research octane number

MON= Motor octane number

 

Their octane number 92 is about the same as our RON 98
