your friend has already recommended you a Good ENT specialist

Good is different from cheap

If you were a good private ENT, would you charge less than what your peers are charging? especially since your time is finite

if cost is a concern, visit a polyclinic and get a referral to a Govt hospital specialist. This is your best course of action

mine not sore throat but upper gastro problem. went bedok polyclinic then refer to CGH for an apptment within a mth+. I googled my specialist...he also adhoc at Raffles Hospital and had given talks before. So going thru referral doesnt mean u will be assigned a lousy specialist, its just that u cant choose only.

My wife 's sis saw him but he couldn't figure out what's wrong . Our preference was Prof yeoh kian hian at camden but he was not in sg when the sis came down from indo . However , prof yeoh is even more expensive but he is good .

No mention how frequent/serious your sore throat.

No mention if you smoke/work in polluted air environment.

No mention if your regular diet consist of deep fired foodstuff prepared with recycled cooking oil.

Can try taking honey. Gargle with saturated salt solution, followed by rinsing with water, before retiring to bed.

yes,

Prof Yeoh Kian Hian is the father of ENT in Singapore. Please see him if the other ENT cannot settle your problems.

He's internationally acclaimed.

If cost is concern, than polyclinic referral is the way.. But expect a few months for the 1st appointment for non-urgent case.

Sometimes it depends. Even you got referral from polyclinic, the appointment at the hospital also can be quite fast.
