D3 and our oldjaffa, i am curious why both of you changed from an alfa to a lexus which has been perceived as boring and not a astas brand? not looking to start some shit here just curious. my previous ride was a legacyGT before i change to the 4genGS

Lol nice miss those days on breakfast run! My last time that hit such a speed think was with you when you took a pic of the speedo 245/h on the old Alfa :)

When I collected my ES250 it was raining, not heavy just normally slightly mild rain. I feel the tyre a bit slippery, at night I change to Michelin primacy straight away more confident. But primacy still dun inspire a lot of confidence in wet, thus intend to try Bridgestone GR100 next to see how it feel

Thanks for the feedback! I collected the car over the weekend and have put in too much mileage to have anymore trade in value for the stock tyres. So far, I have not driven in the wet yet.

I will probably monitor the performance when I drive it the rain. If it gets scary, I will change it to GR100. I have been using the Turanza GR (since GR80) series for my previous 2 rides as well.

No worries bro.

Because I prefer not to buy mainstream models that are too common in this category (3 series, A4, C Class)

And the Lexus was on "clearance" so the depre is even better than my second hand Volvo (the car I had after the Alfa just before this Lexus) and it's so much better value for money than the competition based on my own criteria.

At the price I bought for, I can only get a C180 (slightly better looks and interior but lousy power and no leather seats), 316 (don't like the looks and no power, high price low OMV), A4 1.4 (too plain inside and outside and no power).

Jag XE is ok but abit cramped inside, cabin is not as luxurious and the engine is the same as my Volvo so no point.

I am enjoying my Lexus very much! Absolutely no regrets except for the lack of "zhng-ability" and it being a quiet car I decided to ICE it up instead of doing more performance mods :D

OJ, did you consider Infiniti Q50 since you prefer something less common?

What happened to the Busso? Is it still alive?

Oh yes bro. How can I miss it out?

Yes the Q50 was my second choice after the Lexus.

It had a good balance of everything just that the Lexus had more "feel" - the Infiniti steering wheel is not as nice and there's no paddle shifters. and the Lexus resale is likely to be better in future.

Also, I thought Toyota will have more mods compared to Infiniti so more or less the decision is made :)

I have also been using Bridgestone Turanza since GR80. I have great confidence in Bridgestone in wet weather. The GR100 is excellent but it wears out fast (almost 40K) on conservative driving. Changed into a second pair of GR100 on my GS250 before deciding a month later that I will be changing my car soon :)

Xtrail also have 360 camera.... Lagi stylo....

My point is...... When you drive a GS vs an xtrail, the reason why you spent double the amount goes into the handling, refinement and effortless power delivery.... No point comparing such minutiae feature.

Hehe.. Not exactly comparing.. Just feeling that it's a very convenient feature to have.

Turbocharged

Haha.....can tell this thread full of ah peks who are obsessed w FC & soundproofing.

Gone are the days of which mods can jiak Evo, where to a roll fender, cut spring how many inch, which sticker can add 5bhp....... [laugh]  [laugh]

Can be ah peks physically but young man on the inside.

I also find the auto tailgate can open on the inside but cannot close. But I notice SUVs can open and close from inside leh. Wonder if it is safety issue.

At the same time, anyone got lobang to change that outside. I think just adding a reverse switch to make it open and closeable will be great leh.

If I am to hazard a theory, the reason could be the difference between and sedan and SUV. NX200t also have remote open and close of the tailgate. So it is not brand specific issue.

For SUV, from the cabin rear view mirror, when the hatch is open and up, you can see any person standing in the way of the rear hatch closing.

For sedan, once the rear boot is up, the whole rear window is blocked. So there is no way to "check clear" if you are to press the close button from the driver's seat.
