However start off like abit struggle to climb in revs.. can clearly hear the engine trying hard..

That's my main gripe for my car.

From standstill, when you stomp, there's a lag of 1s.

Because of this, I lose every traffic light sprint from 0-30kmh

Other than that, it's all good.

Oh yes, utter lack of modding options... But then again a Lexus should be driven stock right ð¤£

Even SE told me can do piggyback somemore.. apparently there is a Tom’s piggyback which can be used for the Lexus 2.0T?

Yup. I've tried both Racechip and Tom's.

Currently on Tom's now.

Normal mode is now stock's sport mode.

Sport mode is now sharper than stock's sport mode.

Quite worth it.

IS's stock sports mode is impressive to me. [dizzy]  Recently i toyed with the manual shifting using gear stick instead of paddle, seems more "beastie", had to step lightly to mitigate the lunges and acceleration.

Nope. Acceleration from standstill still has that 1s delay before the car moves.

It's the response of the throttle that's sharper after that.

Actually the Sport mode is decent... once I am on Sport mode (NX)... engine and most impt GB is super responsive.

Only slight issue is if you do sudden big kick on accelerator... at least 1 second lag where tacho jumps to 4-5k but car seems to remain still.

Avoid that and everything is good.

Ya. Same same.

The orientation of the gearstick is "wrong".

Shift down should be up gear and shift up should be down gear.

Lexus is shift down = down gear and shift up = up gear. It's counter intuitive.

That's why I use manual mode and paddle shift on sports mode cos it won't go to 8th gear on auto below 90km/h.

Looks like these chipmaker need to find way to retard Atkinson cycle.

Anyway the profile of Toyota buyers are those who drive gently and normally. They won't stomp.

So I guess it's meant for gradual acceleration.
