1. Either pay not enough, they still not paid million dollar. Million dollar pay can buy one's integrity.

2. CPIB too free, small little thing also make it look like corruption. (Just like the recent MOE case involving the HSH principle, end up also not guilty).

boh pian

every case they must investigate

i think they prefer gov/stat board rather than commercial due to

you are guilty until you yourself proven innocent but it is the reverse for commercial firms

SINGAPORE: The Commissioner of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Peter Lim, has been suspended from his duties and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) chief, Ng Boon Gay, has been questioned by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), according to Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao.

In a front page story on Tuesday, the paper quoting reliable sources, said that Mr Lim had been suspended for nearly a month and six other SCDF officials, including two of senior rank, are also under investigation. The paper quoted sources as saying the case is 'linked to money and women'. Mr Lim had his use of the official SCDF car taken away from him, said the report. Mr Ng was said to have been called in for questioning by the CPIB but no further details were given on when exactly he did so.

Mr Lim, 51, became the SCDF Commissioner in May 2009, moving up from the rank of Deputy Commissioner. He has been in the SCDF for 24 years. He was an engineering service officer, rising through the ranks to become deputy commissioner in June 2005.

Mr Ng Boon Gay, 45, has been in the Police Force for 20 years. A local government merit scholar, he was previously in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) before taking over at the CNB in January last year. In his term as the CID director, he oversaw the setting-up of the Casino Investigation Branch to deal with casino-related crime amongst other responsibilites.

Maybe some big shot will announce we shud let them go or else the talents all end up in jail.

CPIB is hard at work it seems and PMO doing a purge. Good transparency so far though. Maybe even a MP is next.

The ministries answer to these problems will be to raise their salaries to at least $1million to prevent corruption. Then because these top pple are paid more than a million, they will reject the salary committee's suggestion of lower pay for ministers and instead give them a raise instead to stamp out the corruptions.

Seriously, top money doesn't reduce corruption. It just ensures that you get more top brains to join the service. The more top brains you are, the greedier you become because you think you deserve. The high pay notion to prevent corruption is ultimately flawed...

Bro, transparency is when Ministry releases statement BEFORE the wanbao scoop.

Releasing official statement AFTER the wanbao report is at best called "forced transparency" or no choice aka LPPL.
