Happily1986 5th Gear January 28, 2012 Share January 28, 2012 you have acetone? i thought of acetone too but once a long period has elapsed, the oil molecules would have entrained itself within the mesh like network of the fabric at the micro level. What else have you guys used to clean off such spots / oil stains? Thanks Have u tried using Kerosene? I used it to remove black stains from hands after fiddling with engine. Don't knw if curry stains in same category as exhaust stains (since it's also oil based); I would rub flour onto each spot, set aside for an hour or so, wash off the flour, then, use detergent. No harm in trying, Good luck
Yeobh 4th Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 I have come across mechanics suffering from hand skin problems due to washing their hands with diesel / kerosene sometime even with left over petrol. Just to go to any workshops and you can easily spot mechanics washing their hands with clothes washing detergent/powder.

TameDriver Twincharged April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 Come to think of it, was taught this powder method by my mum, who used her solid block of face powder to rectify the problem. Maybe the chalk is harder, less porous....... Give it a try & keep us posted.
