Canadian 17-years old students Mathew Ho and Asad Muhammad launched and recovered a Lego man holding a Canadian flag after an epic journey reaching 24 km above the Earth.

The teens used a weather balloon to carry the Lego figure, 2x Canon cameras, a GPS tracker and insulated styrofoam box with parachute.

Canadians claim outer space! Watch for a US response!

Okay.. lame Canada vs US joke...

Not the first time such cameras have been launched up into the outer atmosphere to take beautiful images - these guys are just the first to attach a LEGO toy with a Canadian flag - hence the media attention.

This video is cool.Just wonder how they recover the legoman and how the parchute was deployed?

It's all over the news...GPS tracking.

At least, they were smart enuf to cover the box in red for easier recovery when it comes back down on snowy winter Ontario.

And both did this not because of school project but because they just wanna TRY!
