Shull Turbocharged July 8, 2015 Share July 8, 2015 The newest batch of train which will be in service in year 2016 is even heavier then the current new one may cause even more problem. Don't know why smrt order train that the weight keep increase. Couldn't they order train that would at least maintain the weight? Like the newest batch is a lot heavier then the older one by 1/4 when full load. That could put a lot more stress to the track. Imagine they detect power fault due to faulty train. Is it really 100% because of fault train? Could it be the weight of the train combine with too many people in the train that cause the train to sag down to the level that may be dangerously low and touch the power line that causes power surge and trip the whole ns Ew line? The manufacturers (Kawasaki in this case) of the trains won't be so dumb to design the chassis with insufficient stiffness when fully loaded.. Mason016 Supersonic July 8, 2015 Share July 8, 2015 I'm just waiting for SMRT / LTA to start using the London Tube's statement "We don't make a profit because we reinvest all our income to run and improve your services".
Porker Turbocharged July 8, 2015 Share July 8, 2015 Isn't it equally likely that he could be LTY waking up early today to check mcf for opinions on how to fix the problem before he goes to smrt and gives them our opinions? It is equally likely that she is the dog in her avatar and decided to post comments on train breakdown on an Internet car forum when she woke up for a pi ss in the wee hours of the morning

I agree. Should dig out the old spec sheet for the tracks and check if they are rated to take the weight of the new trains (and increased passengers).
