A series of recent legal warnings over online content in Singapore is raising new debate about the limits of public discourse in its increasingly-boisterous blogosphere.‪

Although Singapore has long had a reputation for limited press freedoms, a thriving online media market has emerged recently, with blogs and other websites taking shots at elected officials and stirring up debate on a range of social and political issues in the wealthy city-state. They are so quick to put the blame onto blogs for gaining the lowest share of votes.

Though There may be some truths in it, miw still refuses to repent and reflect. There is no smoke without fire, if they had not screwed up or implemented unfavourable policies, their votes would not drop to a all time low.

MSK escape is a fact, bloggers did not make up this prison break.

TH/GLC investment losses are facts.

Floodgates opened to FTs and competiting for jobs and acadmic places are real.

And many more.

Come 2016,

Singaporeans being labelled as dogs and no direct action from the gov.

PAP promises many things, but history shows not all are delivered, and they failed to perform basic duties eg keeping international terrorist behind bars etc. Many things are also hush hush, by the time we know, damage was already done, eg floods due to poor designs.

Nobody says running a country is a easy job, they choose to be leaders with open eyes, I hope. Citizens usually are accommodating when occasional oversights or failures show up. It's a different story when mistakes happen when they are avoidable, especially these same leaders claim world's highest pays, talk arrongantly! [mad]

This is so obvious isn't it. Ask anyone in Singapore and they will say the same thing.

Even if 10 people say it out openly and attracted lawsuits, there are another 1000 behind with the same perception but keeping quiet. What can the law or those involved do to those with such perceptions in mind but keeping quiet. Those who like miw will vote for them no matter what happens, likewise those who dispise them will definitely mark against them. Only way for them to forever remain in power? Join the North Koreans, but too bad we don't have any nuclear weapons to be on the bargaining table.

They can "convince" the older generation, but not the younger generation.

If these new generation of leaders do not change their mindset and continue implementing their unfavourable policies, they are likely to see their votes below 55%. if TP was contested tgen, the % may drop below 60%.

5 yrs of past screw ups and bad policies can do so much to cause their votes slide, let's see what happens in the coming 5 yrs. With and without social media, we are at the receiving end of their policies.
