Monte Cristo is standard cuban cigar brand popular for newbies although the range is wide and also has other formats that is good for seasoned guys like me.   Probably you were given the no.4 which is petite corona format. The textbook starter cigar for newbies.  The MonteCristo range is generally medium body, medium strength, medium flavors.

Yes for a new smoker, he will tend to get high and floaty as the nicotine gets into the bloodstream. Its pure tobacco not chemicals not filter.  Be mindful not to ingest any leaf or bits.  If you do, you’ll be sick, breaking into cold sweat with fever and vomit. Tobacco poisoning can be pretty devastating.

The nicotine also keeps you awake after the high.  Somewhat like caffeine.  Hope she doesnt ban you from smoking cigars...😁

All my hobbies are spent within my means.....

However I have friends who are those self-employed or commission-driven use to tell me hobbies eat into my 24hours and the opportunity cost outweighs "pleasure" derived from the hobbies.

To them, all hobbies are extravagant and deter from making more $$$.

That's the problem for entrepreneurs/self employed. Sometimes difficult to demarcate a balance between leisure/rest from work.

True if money is a big concern and every minute counts as opportunity cost.

if one can see beyond the dollar and cents then hobbies or family become as important, if not more important than work.

after all, for me, money is to be made for family and self. Cannot have time for family and self then what’s the money for?
