Doesn't make a difference. Its just a hinge joint. Instead, you should constantly fold and unfold to keep the joint smooth.

But nothing the good old WD40 would help.

Have been riding Brompton since 2013.  It even flew to a number of countries previously.

No issue with the hinge joint.

Chain lube is better than WD40.

Yah I use wax...but dry up faster...

I clean my bikes almost after every ride...not going to get any more white bicycle liao 😅

Tried the incomplete rail corridor this morning from Bukit Merah to Kranji dam. After Bukit Timah railway station, the whole rail corridor is dirt track. The foldie not made for off road.

same issues, just spray WD40 inside front tube and it seems rust problem lesser after I install Brompton Tool. The tool end provide some kind of sealing to front tube where usually I found rust there.
