I always read that VS has no benefits and are a fire hazard.

However I had 2 a Pivot and a Voltz.

The Pivot had no benefits but the Voltz kept my engine at 950 RPM

on idle.

Without the Voltz the idle RPM would vary until the engine warmed up

and stablised. I miss that.

Now I just have a battery desulfurizer and that works great.

:D

it is wierd why manufacturer will not want to spend the few more dollars to add in those capacitors if it is really that great... [confused]

and they are quite right - my battery area (where the VS was installed) caught

fire after 4-years of usage. although there was no report to indicate the VS was

the culprit.

Engine / car was OFF - the only thing (that I can think of) is the VS thats ON

and so happen the battery caught fire and melted, seems to indicate the VS

was the culprit.

I would NEVER install any sort of gadget like that again

You are lucky to escape out alive...

I did ever witness a fire outbreak in a wish....

The fire spread so fast that if it is a blur driver, likely he/she will become BBQ....

only concern is that the capacitor will have a mini explore that spark the fire - need to isolate it and far from the engine compartment if possible.

likewise...mine caught fire one morning as well. My car was parked downstairs but luckily my mum alerted me (i was still asleep). I quickly dashed downstairs & managed to put out the fire. Luckily nothing was damaged except for some burnt marks near the batt area. A big scare for me.... [furious]

I doubt it would help in anyway and also the seller has placed an exclusion and escape clause right at the top of its add. Besides for Italian cars, the wires usually are very brittle after a couple of years. Its insulation just doesn't match up to our climate I guess. So by installing such gadget in some ways could be just testing our luck. lol
