Why POSB ATMs dispense only $50 notes?

I personally do not use POSB, I find that it not only inconvenience low-income earners but also to everyone else especially when you need to buy something small. When a lot of ppl wanna pay for a bowl of $3 noodles with a $50 note how is the hawker gonna come up with so much change?

 

UOB ATMs at least has an option of minimum $80 withdrawal which has a mix of 3 x $10 and 1 x $50. The next option is $200 btw. MAS is printing more $50 dan $10? So difficult to squeeze $10 notes into the ATMs as it takes up more space and hold lesser value dan $50 notes? The cash escorts make less trips if the ATMs are stuffed with $50 notes? Diesel expensive or the COE for the trucks transporting the cash too expensive? OMG, gahment's fault again . Knn, how not to drift the topic to gahment...again?

 

I hope the ppl working at the banks can be smarter dan studying the "cash withdraw pattern" from a machine and give ppl more options coz there's not much to begin with.

It's because the garment say economy is doing well, that's why minimum withdrawal sum is $50

those machines r for fast cash withdrawals. u can only withdraw, no other transactions like cashcard topup, transfer, balance enquiry etc. this is for the convenience to those who only wanna withdraw. if not, can still use normal machines for min $20 withdrawals. as u can see in the pic, there's 2 normal ones, n 1 fast cash. by q-ing at the fast cash, they should know it only dispense $50 notes. hence the shorter q. see....want short q...but complain.

the atm machine only dispense 50 and 20 sg dollar note so if the 20 dollar note canister is empty due to many ppl draw out so no choice will only left 50 dollar note. so LL we hav to draw that amount but the machine will pron u if u willing to draw that amount or not.

The people are to blame as well. I have seen people drawing small amount over multiple cards, hogging the machine for at least 5 mins. Sometimes I really cannot understand their mentality. Why must a person hold so many accounts. One more marketing, one for grocery, one for transport and one for many other reasons.

I think it's fine cause it's usually for ppl who wana draw some quick cash and go, you ever encountered the person in front of you doing multiple transactions and not drawing cash?

i've seen a guy who holds multiple card...he tried for 3 cards...but all 3 no money inside!

If dispense only $50 notes not very "practical", cause if you buy things from small shop or hawker stall, dont think they have the change to give you. Sometimes even supermarket like NTUC also tell me that they do not have change!

I see. Coz my POSB account was left untouched for very long and recently cancelled it. Dun really see the point of holding on to it. Especially with the queues nowadays(be it in the bank or atms).

That's why I dun choose POSB/DBS to setup my bank account. I choose other banks....coz no queue. I choose UOB and OCBC coz their ATMs can accept both cards.

If dispense only $50 notes not very "practical", cause if you buy things from small shop or hawker stall, dont think they have the change to give you. Sometimes even supermarket like NTUC also tell me that they do not have change!

Tha's my whole point. Most of the time when you want to use cash is to buy small items or maybe food. Anything costing more dan $20 you have other options like NETS or debit/credit card unless the shop only accepts cash.

It's because everything will cost nearly $50 very soon. The bank just wanted everyone to get used to it first
