Question on rims

can a damage rim such as slight warp or bend

will cause a slow leak of air?

 

my tire is leaking air slow

about 3-5 psi per day

the thing is, it is on a slight dent rim

only during high speed balancing you can see the rim wobble

 

previously same problem

but after i change a new tyre and after about 4000km

the problem resurface

 

so back to the top sentence...

y not get a tyre shop n check if the rims is damaging ur tyres..

 

maybe 'loan' a spare rim fr ur tyre shop n install back ur tyre...for tat particular side.

 

monitor..if tyre air remains good for 1 week..then easy to conclude the rim got prob..then change whole set lo.

When I got my new car also wrong timing, 2 weeks niah, kana two nails, side wall, LPPL.

Cannot repair, did temp repair, plugging, but got swollen, so best change new tire.

Not worth the bloody scare every time you go at high speed, donno if tyre is going to explode or not.

 

Worth to look into used rims, or have you checked your tyres, might have a puncture you didn't see.

If you're in Jurong, Pioneer had two tyre shops, have them check for puncture etc.

You may try to repair your rims in jb to, quite cheap..

 

They's also respray and loan you a set to use.

if u can see wobbling while they do speed balancing, means ur rims are warp already..

although there r options to repair warp rims, please try not to. the integrity of ur rims are compromise already.. quite dangerous imh..

Twice can be forgiven.

3 times should be confirmed. But very unlikely to happen within these few years if I want to put hard earn $ to buy new car.

i try to check with my mech if it leak due to the rims

to change rim now will be such a waste

rather go for some cheap 2nd hand if i can find
