The last 5 minutes were really epic. Bomb went off - Cinema went speechless Alfred crying - I think got a few audience joined him Cafe scene - Sigh of relief (?) He could have been happy-go-lucky like Tony Stark but chose to bear the world's burden by himself. I think it was all Alfred's imagination. He was a guilt stricken old man On a more practical level, i am guessing the creative team and management team had differences in opinion hence the inception ending. The Bat aircraft actually had autopilot mode, which Lucius Fox found out towards the end of the movie, while examing the wreckage of the aircraft.. Also, the pearl necklace belonging to Wayne's mum could not be found during the "will" scene.. The last "cafe" scene, catwoman was wearing that necklace if im not wrong.. So i guess the Batman lives!
