Fcw75 Hypersonic May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 I saw this glass polish that claimed it can remove hard to remove oil and dirt on windscreen. Selling for $2 as usual at Daiso. The ingredient is Cerium Oxide. Anyone tried using Cerium Oxide to polish windscreen? Does it really help? ↡ Advertisement
Drafting88 3rd Gear May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 (edited) I used cerium oxide, in pure powder form, when my previous car's windscreen had juddering problems with the wipers. It worked to remove the grime and dirt from the windscreen and the juddering problem was solved. Got the contact of the person who supplied it then from fellow forumers, Genie47 and Protege back in 2004. Here is the link to the discussion if you are interested: http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showto...cerium*++oxide* Edited May 17, 2012 by Drafting88
Kb27 Supersonic May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 Cerium oxide is used as glass polish. So it should work to remove oil film on glass. Btw, which Daiso sells this?

Gee 1st Gear May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 anyone know if it can remove chemical stain on glass ? Cheers.
Bluemice 2nd Gear May 17, 2012 Share May 17, 2012 yes, it is used in glass polishing. Glass as is optical glass / lenses / prisms / windows/ etc and can also be used to "hand touch" our wind screen. it basically removes a "layer" off the sub surface. And NO, it will not make your windscreen thinner. but its sufficient to clear away all the stains, fine scratches, etc etc... but do make sure you spend time to polish it and wash off. mice
Fcw75 Hypersonic May 23, 2012 Author Share May 23, 2012 In London the term Minicabs In London is used to refer to a private hire car that is a car with a driver available for hire on a pre-booked basis. Heathrow Taxi can be booked at the time it is required, At the office of a company registered to accept bookings rather than directly with a driver. Mazdaowner Moderator May 23, 2012 Share May 23, 2012 Efficient! BTW Bro. the one sold in Daiso is somewhat diluted, you need to use more effort and time to do the glass up. I used it on my shower panel. 3/4 bottle, but for $2, really you cannot and should not complain.

5936 1st Gear May 23, 2012 Share May 23, 2012 I got one of this bottle from daiso too. Very powerful cleaner. Once I leave it on windscreen for a while, I can see the effects of stains being dissolved, even before I started polishing.

5936 1st Gear May 23, 2012 Share May 23, 2012 Definitely visible signs of something being desolved. Very likely could be oil films or other rain repellant coatings. Kitchen degreaser or citrus acid could also do it , no polishing effect.

Spend more time on one area, then flush off with lots of H2O, make sure really clean, use clean cloth to wipe glass. Thereafter, no worries. ↡ Advertisement
