SMRT Bus Service Drivers Blow the Whistle

People should not just blame the drivers for the many bus accidents.

It is a system problem - long hours, schedules to meet, low pay, low work satisfaction leading to accidents completed by a vicious loop of poor public image.

Unless the upper management get fired, my bet is there will be many more bus accidents and incidents.

Avoid SBS buses on the roads. And on the pedestrian walkways too. [laugh]

Whuy is it paying their top management,CEO, CFO with high salary and good bonus is not expensive, but raising their bus driver salary is very expensive?

when i was a youth, i took shutter bus and mrt to school or work. then i realised that i could save a couple of dollars and time by riding bicycle to mrt [:p] in fact the breakeven point for a low down bicycle (instead of shutter bus) was about 5 months [thumbsup]

As if PRC don't need a pay rise, people are people right ? Unless you keep hiring new and green drivers at low salary every 2-3 years.

Yes true. PRC drivers not happy also can go back.

Just recruit the next batch of PRC drivers.

There are millions of them waiting for jobs that pay them probably 3 or 4x more than what they are getting back home.

Do you think there will be no takers ?

Hi bro, as mentioned in my post in another thread the deputy secretary general of Aunty Lucy, a board member of SMRT Corporation incidentally, had said "that he had been "reluctant" for the salary increase to be reported in the media before all the bus drivers were informed."

Now is there a conflict of interest issue here? [rolleyes]
