The taking off show is really a show of power. A mental game to show who is in charge. The buyers by obediently taking out the shoe is like bowing down to the developers and acting like a little men. Conferring the honor and power to respect the developer like a king. So you see, psychologically the buyers who take out the shoe already lost, in terms of authority and superiority ranking.
