Stiff Ring - Good to have?

Hi All,

Installed in my 3 months old forester fxt and been driving last 2 months ... cannot remember exactly but about 16 collars for front and rear.

There is certainly a difference before and after ... at least for forester fxt.

Indeed drive is a tad more harsh but car is obviously more planted.

I am all for comfort and quietness after having done extensive SP as well as autofoam but I am still keeping them due to the preferred more planted aka confident ride.

Cheers,

Richard

Just thinking what if it was not meant to be tighten in such a way?

There are reason why car engineers build cars the way it is.

Maybe the space is to allow the subframe to have some space to move so as not to put so much stress on the chassis?

Just my point of view :D

My thoughts as well. There are reasons why things are built in certain manners. If the manufacturer who is spending billions of dollars on R&D don't put it in, I trust them more than some snake oil after mkt shops.

Having said that, if some owners feel good, by all means, go ahead and feel good.

Installed it in my Mazda 2 last year. Felt the improved handling the moment I drive out of the workshop. Back then I really feel it’s money well spent.

Hi Tiger1,

Perhaps depends in car and perhaps you expectation but most important is that perhaps you had not tried yourself .. I tried and hence wish to share here.

However, my main intention to respond to your msg is about your mentioned billions of R&D spend and hence such mods or any mod cannot worked effectively since they do not include them is flawed and used too often ..some with ignorance without trying.

I am from high tech hardware design and mfg and we have perpetual cost reduction program to save dollars and cents in use of just good enuff design and components and NEVER the best or even appropriate ones available due to price point.

Paiseh but believe enuff said since no axe to grind.

Cheers.

Those from china are like 40 dollars for 16 pieces.

Seems to be quite reasonable performance.

Do remember to replaced the stretch bolts that are for one time use only.

Hi all,

sharing some feedback.

I did my magic collar kit this morning and felt the benefits after installation.

Some of the immediate feel are:-

tighter cornering  ,

lesser chassis movement

more stable when going over humps,

Braking is also "sharper" with more stability; more precise braking

ride is more comfotable

firmer suspension when making turns and cornering

does it give good benefit?

Installed the magic collar. Can feel the ride is 'firmer', corners better with more control on the steering wheel.

Need a reputable and good workshop to install it, so it can be work properly, and not disturbing of any issues

Might as well go to the workshop that distributes the magic collar.
