Not that I didn't say it won't work in Singapore ever! The guy owning the EV will get fed up of the slow chargers, the shenanigans from other EV owners, the non-EV car occupying the charging lot... Etc etc such that it will become such a major turn-off for the EV owner to finally throw in the towel. But as another forummer here always saying that we must adapt or we will die anyways, the govt will shove it down our throat etc etc. Me, I'll just wait for the day when govt got the balls to lay down 100% EV as the rule and ban all non-EV from our roads before I'll ever buy one. We are less than 9 years away from the ban on registration of new ICE car. After that, it will be another 10 years for a hybrid. Ultimately, CAR LITE. p.s. since last year, my car mileage is substantially lower than before. I have adopted half tank pump petrol rather than empty pump petrol. That's why I keep saying - this whole "master" plan is doomed for failure. Only upon implementation (of the 7kW) chargers - then they will realise - oh this don't work! By then, to "upgrade" the charging infrastructure means must overhaul the whole works - then another tender will be called... wash, rinse and repeat of what is happening right now... 1

So what if manufacturers adopt 800V systems in the future to support high voltage/low current fast charge, when the max which our infrastructure goes is only up to 50kW? 7kW at HDBs is a damn conservative performance parameter, its going to take ages to fully charge up a mass market model such as Model 3. It's a bloody joke to be honest, especially if they had the advantage of building everything up from a clean state, without burdens of legacy infrastructure. 7kW charging at HDBs, its as good as asking people to stick with ICEs.

Saying regardless the outcome, the govt will take care of everything and build something that works for all of us? And that we all will/must eventually fit into this "box" that the govt builds for us? Now you're admitting that it's a shit plan too?
