We are less than 9 years away from the ban on registration of new ICE car.

After that, it will be another 10 years for a hybrid.

Ultimately, CAR LITE.

p.s. since last year, my car mileage is substantially lower than before.  I have adopted half tank pump petrol rather than empty pump petrol.

thats about 20 years more, by then i will be too old close to 60+ to even walk, dont even need to think about driving anymore.

SP Power AC is 43kw. Only DC is 43kw.

With 7kw and 22kw, it is too slow for mass adoption over the next 10 years.

DC 50kw is fast enough not to kill battery lifespan

That's why I keep saying - this whole "master" plan is doomed for failure.

Only upon implementation (of the 7kW) chargers - then they will realise - oh this don't work!
By then, to "upgrade" the charging infrastructure means must overhaul the whole works - then another tender will be called... wash, rinse and repeat of what is happening right now...

Have to agree man. 

So what if manufacturers adopt 800V systems in the future to support high voltage/low current fast charge, when the max which our infrastructure goes is only up to 50kW? 

7kW at HDBs is a damn conservative performance parameter, its going to take ages to fully charge up a mass market model such as Model 3.

It's a bloody joke to be honest, especially if they had the advantage of building everything up from a clean state, without burdens of legacy infrastructure. 

7kW charging at HDBs, its as good as asking people to stick with ICEs.

Boss - I thought you were damned supportive of this EV master plan? Saying regardless the outcome, the govt will take care of everything and build something that works for all of us? And that we all will/must eventually fit into this "box" that the govt builds for us?

800v architecture is unlikely to be mass market.

For model 3, just use supercharger
