@kelaihoyin Agreed, i will like to try Honda Vezel eHEV but my budget does not allow. Looking for Hybrid within my budget so took Nissan Kicks E power.

So far it is a very fuel efficient car and works very well in our start stop traffic condition. it can be also be very powerful when needed with 260nm of torque.

Per KM, it cost 13 cents of electricity.

Based on your calculation, a 40kwh Zoe that travels, say 280km on full charge will cost;

280 x $0.13 = $36.40

Based on petrol usage with FC at 15km/L, I calculated to be $39.

Where is the saving?? Or did I get it wrong.

Is there a cheaper alternate charging station??

Based SP Power rate (49.49cents/kWh), the charging cost is $19.80.

LTA website stated its power consumption to be 161wh/km.

So, 8cents/km.

The 13cents/km is for EQC which is 400+hp.

Unlike you can get 13cents/km for 400+hp petrol car

@PaulMeng not true, as the article you shared, it mentioned maximum power come from both battery and engine generator at the same time. so at max power output, no net power from engine generator is charging the battery, all is going to power the motor. You have 1minute to climb, or it will enter limp mode.

Max power = engine generator + battery power = 95kW
Limp mode = engine generator = ? kW < 95kW

Did mount faber climb last week without any issues with kicks e power. It can easily climb while maintaining the battery level and no stress at all.

Kudos to nissan E-power, really a good innovative motoring idea for the masses at an affordable price.

I only know the existence of Lexus EV recently

$250k for an EV that charges using CHAdeMO (practically doesn't exist in SG) - Also, this EV can't charge using 90% of those CCS chargers he mentioned. 😅

Doesn't sound very convincing at all.

Also, SP Power is not Sembcorp.

But roughly how much did you pay for the car insurance? Based on your age...

I asking cos so far for full EVs their car insurance premiums are very high because of the car's high basic cost price. Whatever saving we need to look at the bigger picture.

Nissan e-power is hybrid.  It will be treated as ICE.

For EV, the comparison has always been orange vs apple.

Merc EQC 400 must compare with C53

With 50% NCD, from Directasia S$800 still got change. Age 37.

Nissan Kicks e-power is an electric car but luckily still have an 1.2 litre engine to charge the battery for the 129bhp electric motor with 260nm of torque.

So it came an hybrid car.

As the charging engine did not drive the wheels, road tax is calculated based on electric car road tax calculation which is 800 per year. Still reasonable.

I was at the showroom and sat at the rear row.

Not enough support for under thighs and did not want to test drive. The side profile looks like its from 80s era.

The veteran sales guy also talk too much.
