Lemon law is only warranty on products sold. Labour charge may still need to pay for repair.

please read the terms and conditions during purchase. Don't take for granted even the policy protect the consumers.

Lemon law only applies for tangible retail products, not for services. Question - chicks classify under products or services?

The law doesn't apply to government services, financial services (although they are called products most of the time) and maid services. Lemon law afffects dealers but yet exempt workshop repairs. So if the workshop does a shabby work, who suffers? Workshop pass the consequences to the dealers. If an owner doesn't take good care of his car, the consequences goes back to the dealer. So dealer is responsible for everything he sells, and nobody else is.

If government wants to spruce up our retail image, how about going all the way, lemon law for service industry, since our economy is becoming more service centric. However, if you want to regulate everything, then there is no end. Lemon law for MRT, buses, taxis, hawker food, PAP ministers, bicycles, ineffective employees, teachers, etc.

In an extreme case, will be lemon law for spouse. After 6 months of consummation, if conceivement cannot be achieved, can we reject our spouse because of the lemon law. The whole country will be overwhelmed with lawsuits after lawsuits, and the only beneficiary are the lawyers.

THE POINT IS WE ARE ADULTS, we don't need the government to lemon law everything, caveat emptor. And who is to decide, what should be lemon lawed. We probably want to lemon law every other industry except the ones we are working in. If the government wants lemon law, apply it in their own backyard first before applying on others turf.

Does the law also apply to us when we sell our cars to a) dealers and b) private owners?

Anyone can enlighten?
