Sk65 1st Gear September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 wow man , i was still asking my dad about this last night, cos i vaguely remember i did it when i was young. his reply was damn insightful. the price of eggs did nto increase much during this 20-30 yrs. however the price of everything else increase multiple fold. thus, carrot cake = $2.50-$3 now last time was $0.70-$1.20 next, price of egg was 10cents last time now maybe 15 to 25 cents. thus, 15 cents egg is a significant savings from the $1.20 (assuming top up egg add, 30-50 cents)

Mazdaowner Moderator September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 Something came to my mind and still find it quite interesting. Still remember bringing eggs down to the prata / porridge stall for them to add into your kosong prata or porridge? Yes, and food were placed in natural leaves as wrappers, no foam, no plastics. And if you remember as well, we all carried "TengKat" tiffin carriers to the food stalls. I still have my trusty tengkat and use it till this day, handed down, 2 of them already 80yrs old, one is 50yrs old. From my aunties. No one uses tengkats now.
