I have a Dec 2018 BMW 216 AT which i am thinking of changing to M135i. Mileage is 5500 km. Would anyone believe me? 😒 My father had a bad experience with someone from a rather famous shop with initials GR. He wanted to sell his ridiculously low mileage (but completely genuine, as he barely drove it) Honda City to them. Car was at least 2 years old but had only 6000+km on it. GR reps came to our place to view the car. The female ("J") artlessly accused my father of odo tampering. He threw them out. 😂😂😂 EDIT: oh yes, and you can't go wrong with an M135i. Very nice car (speaking from fond personal experience). My current M140i is more linear and a bit quicker, but I don't think it's different enough to justify the price diff on the used market. I also prefer the hydraulic steering of the 997.2 to the electric one. Edited January 23, 2020 by sake

That's why most buy that in the first place I suppose

There's a whole currently active thread on this. In Singapore, disregard the mileage. Yeah, just look at the other tell tale signs, like the interior condition. the leather seats the steering dash etc etc..... it shows how much the car has been used. The Odo, must take with a pinch of salt if mileage is really low yet car interior looks really used.

Chongster 6th Gear January 29, 2020 Share January 29, 2020 Is It true super low mileage performance cars can actually be more problematic because such cars are meant to be driven hard? Or more urban myth?

I was looking at a 997 turbo some years back. The inspection by Weissach (not cheap and I paid for it) threw up so many defects that the used car dealer and I couldn't settle on a fair price. In the end I walked away. Contrary to urban legend, Porsches are *not* bulletproof in reliability, especially the older ones. The engines themselves are pretty good but many other things can fail and it varies model to model. Anyone got other views on the 997.2 turbos on the market? ↡ Advertisement
