SINGAPORE - Parts of the Tampines Expressway (TPE) towards the direction of Changi were closed today for five hours, after an accident occurred between a lorry and a tipper truck.

A police spokesperson said that it received a call at 1.59pm requesting for assistance along the TPE before the Punggol exit.

The incident caused mud carried by the tipper truck to spill onto the road, which affected an area measuring 50m by 10m.

Firefighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force who arrived at the scene then used a water jet to clear the mud from the road.

The expressway was reopened to traffic at 7pm.
