wow!! very tough man [thumbsup]http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-19944833

A former Gurkha from Kent who fought off a mugger was unaware the attacker's knife had snapped, leaving the five inch blade embedded in his left arm.

Taitex Phlamachha, 38, was with his wife when he was attacked after withdrawing money from a cash machine in Maidstone on 7 October.

He managed to overcome his attacker and hold on until police arrived.

The black belt in karate and taekwondo only realised he had been stabbed when police used a metal detector on him.

A 39-year-old man from Maidstone has been charged with assault.

It make sense. Only when the blade is withdrawn from the wound dan the blood will flow easier coz there's a gaping hole. The victim die faster.

If the blade remains in the wound there's no gaping hole for the blood to flow out from. Still bleed but a lot slower. Think of a car tire punctured by a 3 inch nail. If you immediately pull it out, instant deflation. If you leave it and continue driving to the tire shop you will be alright. :D

That's why stabbing cannot just strike once and leave the knife on the wound. Must strike multiple times to ensure...you know. [:p]

Don't need mulitple strikes. One "stab" and instance withdrawal with a slight twist of wrist generate the same effect. [laugh]

Gurkha is mentally and physically fit. Though not as highly educated as us, they are way over us in terms of discipline. Happened to see them receiving awards from commissioner of police, all damn serious and proud of their achievement.
