Last year, people around me were going ga-ga over kindle fire. Don't know what is the hottest item for this coming one.

go check out amazon, starting from tomorrow they will start the black friday countdown with hourly special deals.

 

looking to get the blu-ray box sets which is really cheap. i got the lord of the rings trilogy extended special box set at 45 us dollars. It's selling at 100 plus in singapore.

 

Also checking out new earphones as well, last year i managed to get the ultimate ears 10 earphones at 90 plus dollars, which is a steal considering it's selling at 500 plus at epicentre

I dare say that most pple here are not avid book readers.

 

So most are looking at Kindle Fire as a cheap tablet for their kids or as spares.

 

But please don't get the latest Kindle paper white as well. The display quality is really bad. The e-ink is great, but the backlight is really poor. I know becos I bought two and now in the process of returning one.

My wife was thinking of getting a paperwhite during the sales this wk!

The display is not uniform. There are patches of bruised pink and blue hue on the display.

 

As long the brightness is more than half of the allowed settings, you will see it.

 

I have two...one is quite bad, one is probably acceptable.

 

I would suggest wait for the paper white v2.

 

it is definitely not as "paper White" as claimed as in the amazon ads.

a friend once told me..

by purchasing electronic gadgets etc online from overseas we are doing our bit to help our economy.

this will reflect as added increase in 'global demand' and thus in turn will increase our manufacturing export.

dunno how true.

 

but for an avid small timer online shopper like me, i got not much choice but to source online.
