Actually whats your point now? R you looking to buy COE car or PARF car?

Let us know what you are targeting at first, then fellow bros/sis here can advise you further.

Since you are first time buyer, bring along a trusted friend, relative that knows the used car market well when going down to check the car.

I sent mine to STA before inspection. everything they will check, then will come back with a report. they will list all abnormalities of the car. u can call to confirm that the car went for the check in case the dealer doctor the report.

also u may want to ask where the used car was last serviced at, and call the workshop to check the mileage, to see if it is altered. may seem like a lot of work to do, but it'll save u lots of trouble and wasted money in the long run.

ps; i just went on SGcarmart to check... depre for additional 5yr old stream is 7-8k, add 10yr is around 5.5-7k. just wondering why u would bother paying so much when u can get a new car (fit, attrage, maz2, accent) for the same depre..don't make sense to me haha😂...

Thanks for so much Info. Is the monthly installment a concern to me. Coe car maybe I can cash out the whole car, but for new car maybe I still need monthly installment. So still research to get more information. Can't make up my decision till a clearer pic

 I recently sold my PI harrier 3 months ago to the AD with the mileage of 77k. It was a 2015 car. Since PI car servicing are done by external workshop and not AD, there is no way to check whether the mileage is genuine or not. Few weeks after trade in, the car appeared on sgcarmart and true enough, the mileage was turned back by a good 30k. 

Therefore, a piece of advise is not trust the mileage stated by the dealer unless it can be verified with the AD. And for that batch of vezel, do check whether it's involve in a recall and whether it had been rectified.

oh i see... good choice to pay full upfront, in cash. i did the same for my car. no point borrowing money and paying interest for something going down in value rapidly, right?!?!?! 

but beware, some dealers will make you pay extra if you do not take loan. i bought mine and those idiots charged me 7k additional for not taking loan. utter BS and i fell for it! well at least i negotiated with them to reduce to 5k😪. lesson learnt from my side lol...esp since that time was my first time buying a used car! maybe u could avoid such dealers or negotiate with them if u encounter one! good luck!

Now I am looking for COE renewal car. Narrow down to Honda stream or Kia Cerato forte. 

Came across this 2 companies, any one brought from them before? Trying to find more information online, can't find much. EDM car ptd Ltd got good and bad reviews. But they have nice looking forte for sale now.

If you have money to pay cash for COE car, then your options should be:

1. COE car because of the lower depre, but you need to know how to fund a good 10 year old car, which is not easy and you need some luck. COE may need some repair, so your depre cannot be just the car price alone. 

2. Buy a cheaper brand new car and take up a small loan, that will give you a peace of mind and safe you lots of mechanical and electronics  trouble  as compare to buying an old car. 

Buying a few year old car does not make sense in your cases.

Bro, if I keen to get a vezel. For parallel import car, the warranty usually is 3 years/100k mileages. My qus is what to do if a car got issue after the 100k? Have to go outside workshop to repair? 

As for HRV, although more expensive than vezel. But at least down the road within 5 yrs, anything wrong with car still Covered by AD. 

As such, spending more on AD izzi a better choice? And buying a HRV that used for 1 to 2 years, really save up to 10k compare to new car?

Anything wrong after warranty just find outside workshop to repair. No need to be so scared one.  It's just a car you can get rid of anytime, not a wife.

Just avoid buying those models known to have problems, even with warranty as it's time consuming to keep sending to workshop. Just like don't marrying someone already known to have flawed characters - don't ever think you can change the person.

You just have to assume there is no warranty from PI , most of them are bulls**t. You are unlikely have to spend 10k over three years for repair but at times depends on luck.  there are other consideration like risk of PI closing shop without  delivering your cae, factory recall etc. Make sure you buy from a reputable PI. If you really want to stick to your PI workshop for three years, after three years you are free to go any workshop for repair. There are so many vezzels on the road  , you will be spoiled for choice to choose which workshop to go to.

I requested the dealer send the car for STA evaluation. The dealer said he will arrange and sent for me. My qus is the booking will be under the dealer company name or my own name? What is the fee charged by dealer to send the car for evaluation? 

STA, Vicom or AA better? 

The report since I am paying for it, will the dealer get the report too? 

A used vezel vs a HRV is same price,  left 7.5 yrs selling at $69k. Is HRV a better option since AD honour 5 yrs warranty Coverage as for Vezel, is dealer in house warranty?

A new vezel is $89k. Izzi a better option than a used 2.5 yrs car at $69k? Of cos new car monthly installment will be more Xiong. 

Usually How much lower in price can I request from dealer?

in this current Coe climate, please see the Coe value of the old car vs the new car. why not buy new vessel?

 

hrv is better in terms of the after sales warranty, but vezel has a better specs overall, Honda sensing for a start.  

as for the report,, likelihood the report will be the dealer name.

In short, go to your preferred w/s specialist and have a thorough check and confirm average cost for repairs etc. my personal opinion.

  Nego with black and white, I don't lay down any deposit, all verbal / written sign prior to buying, if not I walk away. Simply buyer's market

Hi to you all bought a used car from Premier 8 Kaki Bukit ave 4 #07-xx after test drive the car overheat, the dealer say he will do it for me. but the day i go and collect the car was already warmed up but i sensed something fishy so i ask the dealer for 1 week warranty and he says ok. but after driving the car for one day only, the whole engine overheat again. i call to tell him that I will send the car to his garage for checking. they say maybe gasket burnt and need to remove and check. But today when i collect the car, the dealer says has to share half of the total bill.

lesson learned, never collect the car when it's hot.

Please be careful if you are buying car from him, at your Risk
