Personal choice will be Lancer.

1) 2.0 vs 1.8

2) insurance i guess subaru and honda are more ex

3)MIJ vs MIT

3) legacy boxer with AWD, FC will be high

4) north have Proton inspira sharing same platform, after market parts might be cheaper?

Lancer,

noisy engine, heavy body, sluggish pickup even if 2.0L, bad fc, looks weird

personal opinion only, no offence for lancer owners

I agree with noisy engine, heavy body and sluggish pickup. But i like the shape, when travelling at high speed, lancer ex is very zai.

Lancer EX GT come with auto headlight, auto wiper, keyless, good sound system, etc.

But given a choice between civic 2.0 and lancer GT. I will rather take civic.

Civic 2.0 for its excellent K20 engine! The difference in engine refinement and rev-ability between the 1.8 and 2L is a world apart. Decent 5-speed autobox (assuming you are buying auto). Good space, FC and build quality.

Lancer is out cos i dont like CVT gearboxes. The slipping clutch sensation and the noise is not nice.

Legacy is solidly built and has a classy dashboard. Boxer engine is delightful but more costly to maintain. But we dont really need permanent 4WD and that drags performance and economy down.

Why civic 1.8? Get the FD2 (Civic 2.0). But FD2 also high FC. Be prepared like 8-10km/l, depend on mod and engine condition.

how come so bad of your fc?

my typeR also easily to achive 10-11km/l using in morning and evening peak hour

I dont own a FD2. But my frd complain and i actually drive his car for one month before. Indeed FC is damn high. Maybe his ride with 18 inch and some intake mod. Btw his ride is FD2 auto. Your CTR FC manual maybe better FC? your stock? i suppose.

Strangely but for Honda cars,

The higher the BHP, the lesser "stress" it takes to get to speed.

Lesser stress on engine, better F/C.

Example, Fit known to be good FC but I used it from Sin~Kl at 150km/hr, I need 45L.

On the other hand, the old City Vtec 150km/hr, it just need 25l or so.
