35% local 95

4% local 98

I was expecting petrol price to drop since crude oil dropped from ~US$120 to ~US$110 over the past week! Whatever happened to what Famous Tan said - drop faster than up?🤬

My guess is next week the petrol prices will come down in Singapore.

But I'm going Johor to pump VPower next week.

It is mostly due to under-investment in oil and gas explorations and refineries when crude oil price collapsed a few years ago.  The surge in investments since last year means that the oil and gas supplies will only materialise in about 2 years from now.  S$3.30/L might be the norm for petrol going forward.

Singapore is also not building any more gencos but installing more expensive solar panels.  Our gencos are also competing with EU for LNG since Russia has partially cut off their NG supplies.  The next quarter electricity tariffs will be released soon and my guess is they will be from $0.30/kWh.

So our energy prices will only become more expensive.  Note that a large portion of our clean water is also produced from energy-intensive processes.
