Dekitting my car - Skoda Superb

Hi guys,

Nice to see the old birds still active here.

Suddenly got interested in the Yeti, that is why come in to see any info on it.

Wah, quite pathetic to see Skoda has only 1 car sold since 2013.

For those who dont know me, I drove an Octy before changing to Astra H.

Skoda is not just not a popular brand in Singapore, although their cars are highly rated in Europe & sell pretty well over there.

The new Otavia is quite a looker. No fancy design, but clean nice line, means more lasting look. But its a pity the highest engine is only like 2.0 TDi. I was looking for a little more go in my next car

Love Skoda's most underated brand out there, I was in India on a business trip, Skoda Superbs are used by the rich and you see it as an affluent car parked outside hotels.

Thanks to the forum here and Koolaba, whom many a moons ago persuaded me to get a Skoda vs a Camry, which I don't regret.

However as my family is getting older after 7 years, (wow it has been a long time I have been in this forum!!) needed something bigger, plus kids getting more sporty, so went for a SUV. The Skoda Yeti is a nice CUV, but wanted something bigger, cant wait for Skoda for their bigger SUV, maybe in 7 years time. :)

Neutral Newbie

I bought a yeti last year. So far no regret.

Excellent build quality, superb fuel consumption 11-15km/liter depending on road condition.

Decent power and pick up from 1.2TSI engine.

Respectable boot space and sits five comfortably.

Only thingy heard 7speed DSG gear box gives problem to lots of similar configuration cars.

What the heck, five years warranty so fingers crossed.

Still reading the posts, although I am a lot less active in this forum now.

Wow, you changed to another car since we last met.

My TDI is still serving me like a workhorse. Probably the Superb II which has raked the highest mileage, currently at 98,000km.

Why can't any Euro V diesel car travel in Malaysia?

1. Top up your tank full before crossing the border.

2. Top up another 20L worth of SG diesel & load it in the trunk. Most petrol kiosks stock 20L fuel container & funnel with incorporated strainer.

20L of diesel should be good for at least another 300km, based on an assumed FC of 15km/l.

Possible. Still have to see how COE prices go. Must say that the car is still in quite good shape after 7 years. No major damage so far.

Hi all,

After 7 years and 250,000km later of driving my beloved and wonderful Skoda Superb I. I am sad to say that I will be retiring my silver bullet soon. I remember that I bought the car purely to usher in the birth of my daughter. We have many shared, loving memory with our "Skody"(everyone in the family calls her that.) I will be dekitting -

1. Tyres - less than 1000 km tyres - FALKEN 18" with RIMS or without.

2. RIMS - BSS RIMs make me an offer - but need to be replaced with wheels...

3. Tools - Reserved for Koolaba.

4. Spare tyres - must be replaced with another spare tyre.

I will be moving to a SUV - Kia Sorento Diesel 2.2L CRDi 196hp/436NM torque (if Skoda had a bigger SUV, I would have migrated to it) but alas cant wait. - thanks to Koolaba for the poison, he got me into a Skoda too and never regretted.

So ping me if there is anything you might want from the car.

How much u pay for the Sorento diesel? Is the road tax cheap? I wanna go diesel also leh
