I bought Chew's newborn eggs at Sheng Siong Clementi West at 3 trays of 10 at $4.60 (buy 2 get 1 free)

To my horror, I saw one moldy egg (confirm real egg) in one of the trays.

This is the first time I'm seeing this and I'm certainly not going to eat this. 

Will go back to my nearest SS tomorrow but are there any suggestions?

 

moldy or just chicken shit? Crack and see what is inside, is it smelly? the only way I know for bad egg when it is smelly

the egg shell was probably not cleaned properly and some spores got attached to it and grew within the few days it was stored in a humid warehouse.

I think generally ok to eat the rest of the tray. Just throw out the "moldy" one.

Actually egg prices have been going up over the last 2 years. Want to buy Singapore produced eggs but they are pricier than those from Msia, esp those which are 60g.

The "mold" may be chicken shit. Take a tissue and wipe away, see if anything untoward is  below.

Put the egg in a container of water. If it floats, it's bad. If it doesn't float, it's probably ok, crack open the egg and check.
