@Columbian78 you can check it yourself. Just switch the Aircon to max cold and see if any of the engine fan spins. If so then any workshop can fix it.

Hi all,

my 2017 vezel aircon will blow out some particles when first turn on. After a while, it will stop. I read online it seems the corrosion of the aluminium coil parts there.

aircon runs fine, its cold but the thing when blown out is not healthy and annoying.

any idea which shop specialist that can recommend to me?

 tks in advance

@Hamburger seems to me is foamy. What’s your take?

Then it could be some insulating material used to wrap around the vent outlet where cold air passes through. No biggies imo.

The evaporator fan that sits along side radiator fan probably konked out.

When car moves, the air flow helps cool it down. When stationary, the fan failed its job of cooling the evaporator.

Hence the air con system not cold where it should be.

Need to rectify. Should be condenser fan and not evaporator fan.

My bad.

So i went to kim and found the issue is the fan spolit n not turning. My car has a single large fan to blow both the radiator and the aircon coil. Kim says need to change just the motor. Original motor 480 all in. Took his offer.

I replaced my air con compresser with L and Kim.

Much cheaper than C&C, definitely! And it was thanks to the recommendation here!

Car was terrible to drive when the compressor was down. The day I drove to fix it, it was raining, and the interior fogged up. 😱

Luckily your engine never overheat. If caught in Causeway jam, GG. Com

he got real lucky. cause now roads more empty and maybe largely expressway commute. else radiator, head gasket and maybe even engine block will go poof...

Yeah i must have been lucky. The fan probably stopped working about 2 mths ago cos that was when i first observed aircon problems. I thought its just aircon n i could live with it for a while so i ignored first. Did not really noticed the temp needle might have creeped higher. I dont idle in car with engine running and i drive v little nowadays so these also hide the problem.

Then 1 mth ago i started having other engine issues which i am now not sure if is caused by the fan not working n the resultant heat. Maybe maybe not. I got 1 cylinder misfire and my bov vacuumn needle was found broken and 1 end of charge pipe rubber melted. These were replaced and repaired and i finally got round to attending the aircon problem 3 days ago. We all never realised temp had been high. I did noticed coolant temp had been 90+ instead of 80+ when i hooked up my obd device.

Hi, after hearing many positive comments for l & Kim in this forum, I brought my jap car, which has AC problem, to the workshop.

After a quick diagnosis, was quoted 860 and possibly more to replace a faulty cooling coil. Not exactly cheap. Is that reasonable? Seem about same price as AD. Any advice greatly appreciated.
