3 weeks to fix a broken windscreen

I am dismayed to be told it takes 3 weeks to get my broken windscreen replaced.

Insurance approval is one thing. And then they do not have the parts. So the windscreen has to be shipped in from Germany.

This is so different from my Toyota - almost instant service. My friend's Civic also dealt with immediately when he drove into Kah Motor.

Today is my 3rd trip to VW and still nothing can be done. I just watch the crack get bigger and bigger everyday.

No more VW for me after this. [thumbsdown]

To stop the crack getting any bigger,

don't they drill a hole just under the crack to

stop it getting bigger?

3 weeks? Yours is a rare model?

:D

Not rare at all. Lots of them around including taxis. It is a Touran. [smallcry]

Thanks for reminding me about the 7DSG. I don't really have any problems with that and very minimal juddering. But of course the fear is always there - especially when the warranty expires.

Don't let the windscreen shatter.

I had a shattered windscreen in Msia.

The glass went on my seat and everywhere.

It was a real pain in the arse.

Is it not a rule in Sg for long that you should have film to protect the shattering?

I have to agree and too bad I have to learn it the hard way. [bigcry]

I have been calling their service centre phone line for 2 days and never ever manage to speak to a human.

Then I emailed them at the email address "[email protected]" but no response. So much "customer care".

Finally drove into their service centre to speak to the staff only to find out must wait 3 weeks.

Sorry state of affairs. Very very disappointing.

Nope there is no law in Sg that you need to put in the film.

The only law is how much light the film must let in.

Maybe you need to change the address?

From "[email protected]" to "[email protected]"?

I think it is illegal to use VW and aftersales service in the same sentence.

Why not call up ur insurance company & bang table? Be pro-active at the source.

My insurance premiums not enough for insurance company to fly windscreen from Germany on private charter jet. [laugh]

May be better that way. Under-promise and over-deliver. That is the way to keep a customer for life.

Too bad different companies have different play books.

Companies that don't provide good service is going for short term business.

Keeping a customer for life is very important to every organisation

except maybe Changi Prison. Their motto should be, we provide bad

service so that customers won't come back again.

:D
