isit? to me both are smart phones which serves the same functions..competing in the same market.. maybe i not too tech savvy to see the difference. [sweatdrop]

I did. I always make sure my apps all exited after use.

Not ony lags and hang. There's a delay for S4 as well. Like when you tap an app, there's a delay of about 1-2 sec before the app launches. For 4s its almost instantanous. I can only talk abt 4s as I have not used the 5 series before. but then considering the 4s is so much older then S4.. really speaks alot about the quality of Apple's product.

But then S4 more fun with all the gimicks and larger screen

It is like you're taking MS Windows comparing with Mac OS X..

i'm not sure if S4 still got "Task Manager". you can check the apps running from there. It depends on how you "exit" the app. By simply pressing the "Home" buttom, you are just leaving it running and go to your home screen.

Best way to be sure, restart your phone and see if it still lags. If it does, something is wrong.

iOS once you exit the app, it closes it. Until you launches it again.

Although i'm not a samsung lover, I believe it should be that bad from iPhone.

Both are OS for PCs ya? Both are essentially doing the same things.. no? anyway...I'm not really looking at the OS but at the phone as a whole..the whole user experience. aiya.. just different pov. [:)]

I'm not saying that it lags all the time.. but on certain occasion it does lags and hangs. But this was never encountered with my 4s.

Hmn..not sure if I'm correct... for S4 i ensure that my apps are exited by holding down the home button. then a list of apps running will show. Then i can either indivdually exit them by swipping or tap on close all.

and for 4s, I dont think the app closes upon exit. Its still running in the background. have to double tap home button and will show all the apps that's still running in the background. Then you can exit them individually. I think la. [:)]

I won't say Sumsung is bad. Its quite good actually. But Apple is better.. IMO.

hmm... seems we both man then i put it in tiko way may be you can understand easier..

you go geylang, got made in china and made in thailand.

so you cannot compare made in china not as gentle as made in thailand.

or you cannot compare made in thailand cannot speak chinese.

but at the end of the day, they are there to serve your needs. although they are very different inside..

haha i know what you trying to say la..... but not neccesary agree with you la.

china or thailand, both are hookers. both are providing the same service.

unless you are talking about different class aka street walker vs high class social escort then cannot compare.. if not if both are street walkers, providing same service of course as customer can compare which one better and choose mah.

its like buying cars, you will compare among different models before deciding on the one you like .

e.g. you can compare between same level cars e.g. budget cars like civics, mazda 3, latio, altis, etc but you cant compare them with A5 , BMW 5 series, mercedes c-class, etc.

Be it IOS or android, they are same category of products. they may run things different, but they are generally meant for one purpose. To run a smart phone.

Why nobody look at the Nokia Lumia series phones?

I using lumia 1020. Usually those who go for wp won't ask on the net one. Cause you will only have ppl tell u by iPhone or andriod.

PS: I not fan of any particular brand.. I do not belive in being one. Just my experience from using both devices.

It is because of the ocasional lags and hang that I decided to change back to a IP5s from a S2...was using IP4 before changing to a S2....

IMO, both phones are meant to be compared against each other as both are defined as "Top End/Premium SmartPhone" of both respective company (Samsung & Apple)

Other phones in the "Premium/TopEnd SmartPhone" category includes the HTC One and LG G2

And according to Dailymail, IP5s is the "fastest phone ever tested", heres some specs for comparision:

Apple iPhone 5s: 1410 (single), 2561 (multi)

LG G2: 882 (single), 2355 (multi)

Samsung Galaxy S4: 687 (single), 1939 (multi)

HTC One: 643 (single), 1805 (multi)

Apple iPhone 5C: 711 (single), 1281 (multi)

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini: 649 (single), 1135 (multi)

HTC One Mini: 477 (single), 880 (multi)

Turbocharged

Fighting over whether Apple or Samsung is better is like fighting over whether Mercedes or BMW better.

I quote another example which I'm more familiar.

It's like Mitshubishi Colt Version R VS Suzuki Swift Sport:

The swift has better handling while the colt has more power. It boils down to which trait the buyer prefer.

Iphone is more sturdy, better quality apps, more secure, more stable OS

Galaxy is bigger screen, cheaper apps, Read/Write usb capable without software/sync, more articulated OS with widgets

Both got pros and cons, so it pointless

As a consumer, I will always choose the brand I prefer at that point of time and will not blindly follow a brand throughout even when they get better or worst.

For me, I was a Iphone 3GS user and have problems with the phone, I switched to Galaxy S2 and loved it. Concurrent I'm using Iphone4 and like it's stability and smoothness. But iphone4 died on me twice while my S2 survived apart from the lag.

Now on Samsung S4. Happy user!

Iphone 5 doesn't impress me at the moment compared with S4, but if iphone 6 rules I'll get it, but if the future S5 is better why not?

Importent thing is never to be a brand whore, It's not like they will give you shares for loyalty.

In the end you only suffer as a consumer tied down by his own virtual rule. Don't limit you freedom of choice to buy.

Agree! [thumbsup] Comparing Apple IP5S, Samsung SGS4 and HTC One is like comparing BMW to Mercedes and Lexus....it is really up to a personal preference

Early android do have lag issue but since Jelly Bean (4.1) the lag issues are gone. When I was using S2 in 2011, I had to rely on custom ROMs to survive lag and battery drain issue, now using S4 dun even have to bother about custom ROM.

My S2 (still keeping) now upgraded to official Jelly Bean and also lag free.

I have never own an iPhone but apple just seem to get it right from the beginning. But I still love the android for its openness and flexibility.

Even though Apple does not have much features to shout about, it is a very practical and pratically lagg free phone IMO

To each his own lor depends on what you value most. Those who insist apple or android is better are assuming others have the same taste and like the same girls as them.

Lol to me indeed iphone 4s very good but since ip5 released, i never trust apple anymore. I owned 4s and now i still have it as back up phone. Very reliable and solid, better than any android phones. What i dont like is the screen size. Moreover iphones stricts by much control from apple, like u r living in N korea.

unlike android which gives u more freedom. Each phones has its pros or cons. Now i am using sony xperia Z, my mother uses S4, my dad uses HTC butterfly. I dont know which one is better as each has their own strength.

If u r a daily user like more for practical daily use, iphone is for them. For those who want to have freedom of exploring the capabilities of ur phone, android is for them.

I wonder if anyone will have a taste like this :

[laugh]

Yep..I agree with you. Both have pros and cons. Its about own preference. As a consumer, we can compare and see which one suits us best.

My preference will be Iphone. I'm a simple person who likes things to be fuss free and easy to use..Sumsung just not my cup of tea.. So next phone most probably be Iphone 6! unless tempted by other makes. [:)]
