i bought mine in oct 2012 from borne. cos its $12k cheaper than all PI

i find that the ride is very bad. always rocking like a boat in the sea.

so I bought Tein suspension with remote control EDFC.

able to control the damping inside the car.

but i still cannot achieve the kind of ride i want.

guess its not possible to achieve a sedan like ride cos Alphard is too Top Heavy.

Hello Alphard/Vellfire owners,

I have some questions maybe you guys can help?

1. Borneo's Alphard does not come with electric rear boot which is a neccesity for my wife. So we are now looking into PI. Can anyone advise any good PI for this car?

2. Are side cameras effective for our local parking?

3. What other options or function are good to have and only available from PI?

4. Is the minimal height clearance being 2.0m for Alphard?

We are looking at 2.4 G package.

We are looking at 2.4 G package.

Yes, even the moonroof (actuallyZG edition) of Borneo motors still has no power tailgate/autoboot. However, pls check with them whether they are going to bring in version with power tailgate. For example, the Borneo motors previa, they start bring in keyless, than cruise control, then now Previa has power tailgate.

Side cameras good to have, but not essential.

PI - many specs available, good rare specs to have are

- one touch power door

- 18 speakers sound system

- LKA (lane departure alert)

- active or radar cruise control

Height clearance is 1.90m (or 1.905 i think)

Yes, get the G package (with memory seat for driver, auto power fold side mirror, power tailgate, reverse tilt side mirror etc).

Kindly note that PI cars have this features

1) limit of cruise control maximum at 110km/hr only

2) top speed 180km/hr

3) dark tinted rear windows

Lastly, some of the wordings in the speedometer clusters are in Japanese.

Btw: heard new alphard/vellfire coming soon, u may want to wait.

Thanks pal.,

Nope, Borneo have no news about the power tailgate. Other than the 5 yrs warranty, i see no reason to buy from them. Then again, Toyota is realiable.

I've seen 3.5V6 cruising in HSW at 180kmh. Impressive for such a huge car.

Yup, we were looking at the G pkg. Now come with first class center seats...looks like business class seats in plane, nice.

Read here that new Alphard may be coming its way but I cannot find anything else on the web. Anyway, resell value for my ride is way too low, just wait and see for time being. Just hope the new Alphard will be more a driver car than just purely passenger van. Borneo SA told me many buyer came with their driver to select the ride.

Hahaha.. its like that one.. Here mostly all are chauffered around...

Yes bro.. I personally am driving the 3.5V6.. on the stock rims it was a bit scary.. now after I had my 20" rims on with wider tyres (255/40R20) feels way more stable...

alphard/vellfire - don't worry abt it being a "van", its nice to drive, really, enjoyed 5 yrs of driving it all across Malaysia.

and the 3.5 V6 is very very powerful, acceleration can outrun most cars, you will know when you can accelerate fast at NS highway on an uphill slop, eg from 90km/hr to max 180km/hr in seconds.

Reliability wise, no issue too, only the main headlight auto swivelling and auto height adjust "gave way" within that 5 yr period.

Sold it off at tip top condiition, around 130 000km of sweet memories.

Interior space in my opinion, no other competitior (except the older first model alphard!)

Yes. The 3.5L V6 is powerful. I took the HK airport limousine using the Vellfire 3.5 V6 to Shenzhen. I saw the driver pick up speed easily to 150km/h on HK Highway with 7 passenger on board.
