Too many bad used car dealers out there, they have destroyed those who are honest! To ease the pain, better get from big companies or AD!!

Agree.

They can reduce price to attract ppl.

I seriously doubt MAS will give in. Property also got service debt ratio now.

"Eighty per cent is quite a fair bit because in terms of used car, it is more towards the mass market and middle and lower income people. I think that telling them to fork out at one go of 40 to 50 per cent of down-payment is might be a very heavy amount for them."

Knn, the mass market lower income ppl should all the more be acting financially prudence instead of taking higher loans!! Isn't this the reason for the ruling in the first place??

All these 2nd-hand ah beng dealers are still earning big bucks, driving new BMWs, going hang flower joints during their leisure time.

Since new CM, they up selling price and reduce trade in price and complain cannot replenish stock and no business. Of course noone wants to change car lah. Bodoh...

Volume too low so they must make more per car than last time, many will need to close and industry will need to consolidate before the equilibrium returns. It is going to be painful for many of them.

I hope MAS don't back down this time. Else they really lose all credibility (or maybe they already have).

Just saw Raymond Tang on TV, he said allowing more loan will enable people from middle to LOWER INCOME family to buy car. Clearly, he has their welfare at heart. Pui!

i think MAS shouldn't give in this time, if they give in, more youngsters will live beyond their means and live in debt

if 2nd hand dealers can't find ways to improve their sales, they could jolly well close shop and scrap their cars!
