A friend of mine who dabbles in antique VWs says many old nice Beetles cars are being scraped because of COE and running costs, and its a shame as you can never reintroduce these cars on the road under the Singapore law. In overseas people can store old vintage cars on private property, and re-register them anytime - even for 3 months to drive in the summer. This is what we have to accept in a compact country.
