Thaiyotakamli Supersonic June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 Singapore does not have the capacity to invade and occupy a country as large as Indonesia but it can cripple and paralyse Indonesia militarily by taking off key military installations very quickly with its vastly superior air force rendering Indonesia into a sitting duck. I read somewhere that most of the Indonesian air force planes are grounded as the money for the spare parts have gone into someones pockets. Ask any military expert and they will tell you the same story. I think indonesian have insufficient missile to be equipped into their fighter jets. Though they have some of the latest sukhoi but the quantity is too small. ↡ Advertisement
Thaiyotakamli Supersonic June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 Provided they can reach riau first. Indon is very very strong in their army in terms of numbers, but our RSN and RSAF is very very strong in terms of number and capabilities. But look at US in Iraq and Afghanistan....can carpet bomb. So? Waste ammunition only. If we invest in 50 predators, everyone in this region will really be scared, but that definitely tilt the balance. Like flipping a coin. In the end only US arms maker laughing all the way. Do note that though iraq have strong army, many equipment and big land but during us invasion less than half of the army resisted. The rest support usa in overthrowing their leaders

Pisces69 6th Gear June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 Strange... After our complaint, they said: 1) Don't behave like children. - Now they declare emergency in Riau. 2) They will not reveal the identities of companies burning forest. - Now its on CNA. This happened in less than 48 hours? Something happened. I suspect after the Agung's remarks got reported in BBC all over the place, Agung must have kenna plucked by his boss. Agung now placed on compulsory leave by Bambang.

Pisces69 6th Gear June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 Put it this way. If I'm looking to set up a new bank, THAT will be one of the very last places I'll ever consider . Trust me, it's almost impossible to 'regulate' things there Actually there r advantages. Over there even the impossible can b done. Only how much N who u know. Blackseal 1st Gear June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 No lah, we don't have more tanks than Germany but we did buy 200 leopards from them, which makes our armor division ahead of the indo and my. The leopards are just decoys....we have Abrams a long time ago....That will really frighten those goondoos...

Indonesia army although large is simply a territorial army - they have no capability to project their force, I.e. can only operate on their own ground, cannot move anywhere. Albeniz Turbocharged June 22, 2013 Share June 22, 2013 (edited) This simply highlights how precarious and vulnerable Singapore is. Diplomatic relations are necessary right after astute statesmanship demonstrated by Singapore leaders. In what has happened over the past few days, it is quite clear that the chip is quite far off the old block. Back in the days of Suharto & LKY, this haze problem will be brought under control immediately and not be dragged on for 1 week due to the close personal relationship between both of them. Although both are hated for the same reason, these political heavyweights do get the job done through sheer iron-fisted control. Internationally, nobody dares to comment our elderly man-in-charge is childish. For this respect, we repent. Edited June 23, 2013 by Albeniz

Maseratigood 5th Gear June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 How can sg have more thank than germany? Sg such a small place, surrounded by water areas, having too much tanks is not ideal for war. Unlike countries like thailand, europe or middle east I worry our CTE, PIE, BKE jams will slow down the convoys of our Leopards etc, unless these tanks sit aeroplanes to land in enemy land to fight them? Maseratigood 5th Gear June 23, 2013 Share June 23, 2013 And thanks to JTC, the workers working on Jurong Island are also vulnerable to such attacks or large scale industrial accidents. So far, there is only 1 main road plying between Jurong Island and main island. JTC does not seem to have any sense of urgency to build any alternative road to evacuate the occupants on the islands although rumor that there was a planned route between the island and Tuas has been circulating for many years but nothing has materialized over the last 10 years even considering that the island is more than 50% occupied by petrol chemical companies. There was already an incident last year where occupants were trapped on the hours for hours due to a major accident on the main road last year. how longer do JTC want to wait? I guess the only way to escape from the burning island is to jump into the sea and swim back to singapore ba... In case of blockage at the land connection, SAF general's can send in engineer units to provide mobile or floating bridge?! And we may have just enuf Chinooks to air lift those on the island?!.... may take a while though When are they start building 2nd island link to mainland?
