hello CLA owners, i'm looking at the 2014-15 CLA 200. Very sleek and stylist, i like. [thumbsup]

What is the common problem with this car?

Any WA chat group to hop in?

TIA

Ppl need to mention the weight of the car. If you only mention power it is hard to see where you are coming from.

Altis no doubt will be the lighter car. Altis if you are talking about the 1.8L engine you will be very surprised with the performance. The thing is it is light. The merc cla is no light weight for sure. With a TC small capacity engine it is slow off the line. So power alone cannot tell much. Ppl here look at hp figures that's is imo even harder to determine anything.

The piston speed or crankshaft rotational speed for the toyota NA I think will be quicker than the TC engine in the merc. Such TC engines are tune for efficiency the piston speeds are slower to cramp more air and fuel for it to combust. There are actually a lot of downsides to small capacity tc engines especially those under 2.0L.

Is it 1.3T? Strange for it to be called 200 as C200 is 1.5T which is a bit underpowered. Road tax is very cheap though.

Mine 1.6T.. they don’t make this model anymore..

newer model 1.3T same torque marginal increase in hp.

ya I agree it’s strange they number it. Even Bmw 316 320.. also confused 🤔

F30 316 is 1.6L turbo.

G20 318 is 2L turbo.

When dey says Heavy ,they dun mean the weight of the car Literally or the Wet weight.

The heavy ,it means the Throttle or the Accelerator pedal heavy which is irony cos Forced induction engine are Nvr heavy & most of them Spool up quite early.

Normally aspirated engines  Power band are pretty Linear whereas the Turbo Charge ones are veri Lively.

So as u can see everybody & their Dog are going dat direction.
